    "We researched and read all the reviews on severaly cameras and picked Panasonic SDR-H40 Camcorder . So far we're very happy with this purchase. The hard drive holds a ton of stuff, and is easily transfered to DVD. The pictures and sound are clear, except for one night shot which I think is more operator fault. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I wish they'd told us we needed specific video software when we purchased it. We're unable to edit any video and once you transfer stuff to DVD, you can't transfer to another DVD or edit it or anything. "
    "I purchased Panasonic SDR-H40 Camcorder for my father in late October. I went to Circuit City to check it out before I bought it. It's very small and doesn't have a lot of buttons...which is good for my dad (he's 50). It was also recommended by the guy at Circuit City. He convinced me to buy the 40gb as opposed to the 60gb because I could get a cheap 8gb memory stick and make this a 48gb camcorder...which allows for a ton of filming.
Make sure you put the OIS on before use. It was $400 at Circuit City but I got it on Amazon for $250. I haven't seen it drop back down since then. I bought one of the camcorder bags that was a suggestion as well...it fits nicely with the camcorder and is very well built. "

    ""Panasonic SDR-H40 Camcorder was an overall good camera, it had very good video/sound quality. The hard drive was very large and could hold much more than I used, and it's not very prone to scratches. I used it mainly for home videos or school cnoerts, and it turned out great. A bad thing about it, though, was that it's picture quaility always turned out very blurry, and in low light, you could barely see anything. I would recomend it for anyone wanting to make home videos, or even outside, but not for taking pictures, and also, it doesn't work with Macs. Overall, I was satisified besides the bad pictures."

    "This is exactly what I was looking for. I read several of the reviews prior to purchasing and had some concerns that the video may not be of very good quality and the drawbacks with the software that comes with it. I used Panasonic SDR-H40 Camcorder for the first time out of the box. I filmed in my office and then later that day at home. It was just fine. The picture quality and sound were as good as the tape models with the added bonus of no tape. I have Windows Vista on my home computer and had no problem with the software provided (I am not very computer literate). I also used Windows Movie Maker that was on my home computer. Quick and easy. This camera is perfect for home videos and a good value. Did I mention NO MORE TAPES!!!!! "
    "I recive Panasonic SDR-H40 Camcorder just in time for christmas, i think is a good camcorder for the price i pay for it. I don't like a lot when i use it indoors with poor ilumination but i can live with that, in outdoors have excellent image during the day (i don't use it at night outdoor).
I think is a great camcorder for a non professional, easy to use, easy to install software (i was reading a lot of problems with software, it was not my case), i'm not burning dvd yets, all my records are in hard drive. "
