"Recently purchased Canon FS100 Camcorder around the holidays so I can take it with me to New York. Been reading reviews (both critics and actual users) and the reviews are pretty favorable. When I received the unit, I didn't realize how tiny this unit is, and with the battery it's very light. So I took it with me on my trip and took lots of video of the tourist spots in the city (Central Park, Gugenheim Museum, walking in the upper eastside etc) and it takes really good videos, the zoom is great, although at the higher zooms (greater than 32x), a little movement makes your videos shaky. But the quality of the video (recorded unto the 8gb SD card) is pretty darn good...audio is pretty good as well. This unit has a lot of features, including the LED light for indoor, it's not bad. The camera is good too, but you'd have to use the LED light as the flash (which doesn't sync). Overall for the money and features, this is hands-down one of the best camcorder purchases I've ever made."

"Listen folks, this camera is FANTASTIC!!! I just received mine, which came with an 8GB class 6 SDHC card for only $279.00. What a steal considering the camera lists for $399. As for performance, Canon FS100 Camcorder takes incredible video. Is it HD, no, but the video is really impressive, especially on the XP record setting. My intentions for this camera are to record my newborn son's mile stones and send them to friends and family over the internet. This camera will do that and so much more. As for features, it really is loaded with them, and if you spend a little time with the owner's manual, you'll see that this camera can do much more than people have said in earlier reviews. In addition to the great performance features, I really like it's small size, and I'm impressed that it is made in Japan, so you know that it will perform to the high standards that other Canon products do. I just cannot say enough about this camera. Better get them at this price while you still can."

"Quality of recording is extremely poor indoors and get's worse as indoor lighting becomes less. I returned Canon FS100 Camcorder. I originally bought this because of all the good reviews on Tigerdirect...... however, once I had quality concerns, I then googled reviews on the internet and found confirmations that this does a horrible recording job indoors. I would not recommend this unit to anyone and Canon is clearing them out discontinued."

"Bought Canon FS100 Camcorder for the family for Christmas '08. We've taken video of sunrises at the beach, more than a hundred pictures and first steps of my first grandchild. Easy to operate. Easy to transfer to PC. Let your kids take all the pictures they want. A great deal!!"

"I just got the Canon FS100 Camcorder a couple days ago. So far I am in love. It even has an easy button... how great is that?? I just tried it out last night in the living room and with a low light, the light on the camera was quite sufficient. I will have to try it outside in pitch black one time and see what the light does with that. The picture is clear. For someone with moderate computer skills it is easy to get the videos on the computer. I have yet to get to a computer with a DVD burner to see how easy it is to convert the files to DVD... I assume it will be fairly easy once I find the right program. I love how it has a counter on the screen that shows show much battery life and how much space is left on the card. I can't say too much as a new user... if I have any bad experiences I will update my review. I bought it for the baby's 1st birthday this week. After the party I will update everyone. So far though, I am saying that everyone should go out and get one."
